Boeing 737 MAX
Boeing 737 MAX is a narrow-body aircraft series designed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes as an update to the previous 737 Next Generation series. The MAX series incorporates new engines, advanced avionics, and aerodynamic improvements to increase fuel efficiency and range. However, the aircraft has been involved in two fatal crashes due to a malfunctioning automated flight control system known as the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System (MCAS). As a result, the aircraft was grounded worldwide in March 2019 and underwent extensive software and hardware upgrades before being allowed to fly again in November 2020.
