Augmented Crew Operations

Augmented Crew Operations (ACO) is a flight operation where the minimum required crew is increased to enhance safety and efficiency. ACO is typically used for long-haul flights or flights that require multiple takeoffs and landings. The additional crew members can include relief pilots, additional flight attendants, or maintenance personnel. The purpose of ACO is to ensure that the flight crew is well-rested and alert throughout the flight, reducing the risk of human error. ACO also allows for more efficient use of crew resources, as the additional crew members can take over duties such as monitoring systems or performing routine maintenance tasks.
