Electrical Arcs
Electrical arcs are luminous discharges of electricity that occur when a current flows through a gas or vapor in an aircraft's electrical system. These arcs can cause damage to the aircraft's electrical components and can also pose a fire hazard. Electrical arcs can be caused by a variety of factors, including faulty wiring, damaged insulation, or the presence of moisture or other contaminants in the electrical system. To prevent electrical arcs, aircraft manufacturers and maintenance personnel take a number of precautions, such as using high-quality wiring and insulation materials, regularly inspecting and maintaining the electrical system, and ensuring that all components are properly grounded.
