Global Distribution Systems

Global Distribution Systems (GDS) are computerized networks that enable travel agencies and other travel-related businesses to access real-time information about flight schedules, availability, and pricing. GDSs are used by airlines, hotels, car rental companies, and other travel service providers to distribute their products to travel agents and online travel agencies. GDSs provide a centralized platform for booking travel arrangements, allowing travel agents to compare prices and availability across multiple airlines and other travel service providers. The major GDSs in the aviation industry are Amadeus, Sabre, and Travelport.
