Structural Failure

Structural failure in aviation refers to the inability of an aircraft's structure to withstand the loads and stresses it is subjected to during normal or abnormal operations. This can be caused by a variety of factors, including design flaws, manufacturing defects, material fatigue, corrosion, or damage from external sources such as bird strikes or hail. Structural failure can result in catastrophic consequences, including loss of control, in-flight breakup, and loss of life. To prevent structural failure, aircraft are subject to rigorous design, manufacturing, and maintenance standards, including regular inspections and repairs. In the event of suspected structural damage, aircraft may be grounded until repairs can be made.
