Turnaround Time
Turnaround Time (TAT) in aviation refers to the time taken by an aircraft to complete a full cycle of landing, unloading, cleaning, refueling, loading, and takeoff. It is the time between an aircraft arriving at the gate at the end of its flight and departing again for its next flight. TAT is a critical factor in airline operations as it directly impacts the efficiency of the airline's fleet utilization. A shorter TAT allows airlines to operate more flights with the same aircraft, increasing revenue and reducing costs. Airlines strive to minimize TAT by optimizing ground handling processes, reducing maintenance time, and improving crew efficiency.
