Visual Deterrent

Visual Deterrent refers to any visible object or feature that is designed to discourage or prevent unauthorized access to a restricted area or airspace. In aviation, visual deterrents are commonly used to prevent birds and other wildlife from entering airport runways, taxiways, and aprons. These deterrents can include reflective tape, strobe lights, scarecrows, and other devices that create a visual disturbance. The use of visual deterrents is an important part of wildlife management programs at airports, as bird strikes can cause significant damage to aircraft and pose a serious safety risk to passengers and crew.
