VOR Navigation
VOR (VHF Omnidirectional Range) Navigation is a type of short-range radio navigation system for aircraft, enabling aircraft with a receiving unit to determine its position and stay on course by receiving radio signals transmitted by a network of fixed ground-based radio beacons. The VOR system works by transmitting two signals simultaneously, one in a clockwise direction and the other in a counterclockwise direction. The intersection of these signals provides the aircraft with a radial, which can be used to determine its position relative to the VOR station. VOR Navigation is widely used in aviation as a primary means of navigation, especially in areas where GPS signals may be unreliable or unavailable.
