Airline Transport Pilot

An Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) is the highest level of aircraft pilot certification. It is required for pilots who wish to fly for an airline or other commercial operator. To obtain an ATP certificate, a pilot must have extensive flight experience, including a minimum of 1,500 hours of flight time, and pass a rigorous written exam and flight test. ATPs are responsible for the safe operation of large, multi-engine aircraft, and must have a thorough understanding of aviation regulations, weather patterns, and navigation. They must also be able to make quick decisions in emergency situations and work effectively as part of a team.
