Airline Transport Pilot
An Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) is the highest level of aircraft pilot certification. It is required for pilots who wish to fly for an airline or other commercial operator. To obtain an ATP certificate, a pilot must have extensive flight experience, including a minimum of 1,500 hours of flight time, and pass a rigorous written exam and flight test.
