Available Seat Kilometers
Available Seat Kilometers (ASK) is a measure of an airline's passenger carrying capacity. It is calculated by multiplying the number of seats available on each flight by the number of kilometers flown. For example, if an airline operates a flight with 100 seats and the flight is 1,000 kilometers long, the airline has generated 100,000 ASKs on that flight. ASK is an important metric for airlines as it helps them to measure their capacity and plan their schedules. It is also used to calculate other important metrics such as Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPK) and Passenger Load Factor (PLF).
