Knots True Airspeed
Knots True airspeed (KTAS) is the speed of an aircraft relative to the air mass in which it is flying, corrected for altitude, temperature, and atmospheric pressure. It is the actual speed at which an aircraft moves through the air. KTAS is important for flight planning and navigation as it determines the time and fuel required to reach a destination. It is also used to calculate the aircraft's performance, such as its rate of climb and descent, and its range. KTAS is measured in knots, which is equivalent to one nautical mile per hour.
