Bacteria

In aviation, bacteria can grow in the fuel tanks of aircraft and cause contamination. This can lead to clogged fuel filters, engine shutdowns, and even fires. Bacteria can enter the fuel system through water, which is often present in fuel tanks due to condensation. To prevent bacterial growth, fuel tanks are treated with biocides, which kill the bacteria. Regular fuel system maintenance and water removal are also important to prevent bacterial contamination.
