BeiDou

BeiDou is a Chinese satellite navigation system that provides global coverage. It consists of two separate satellite constellations: BeiDou-1 and BeiDou-2. The BeiDou-1 system provides coverage over China and neighboring regions, while the BeiDou-2 system provides global coverage. The system uses a combination of geostationary and inclined geosynchronous satellite orbits, as well as medium Earth orbit satellites. BeiDou provides positioning, navigation, and timing services for both civilian and military users, and is intended to be an alternative to the US GPS system. It also has applications in aviation, maritime, and land-based transportation.
