Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a life-saving technique used in emergency situations to restore breathing and circulation in a person who has suffered cardiac arrest. CPR involves a combination of chest compressions and rescue breaths to manually circulate oxygenated blood to the brain and other vital organs. In aviation, CPR is an essential skill for flight attendants and pilots to have in case a passenger or crew member experiences a medical emergency while in flight. Many airlines require their flight attendants to be certified in CPR and basic first aid. In addition, some aircraft are equipped with automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to assist in the resuscitation process.
