Contrail
A contrail, short for condensation trail, is a visible trail of condensed water vapour that is created by the exhaust of aircraft engines. Contrails are formed when hot, humid air from the engine mixes with the cold, low-pressure air in the atmosphere. The water vapour in the engine exhaust condenses into tiny water droplets or ice crystals, which then freeze into ice particles that form the visible contrail. Contrails can persist for several hours and can spread out to form cirrus clouds. The formation of contrails is influenced by various factors such as altitude, temperature, humidity, and the type of aircraft engine.
