Disabilities

Disabilities in aviation refer to any physical or mental impairment that affects a person's ability to safely operate an aircraft or perform aviation-related duties. This includes but is not limited to visual, auditory, and mobility impairments, as well as conditions such as epilepsy, diabetes, and heart disease. Pilots and other aviation personnel with disabilities may be eligible for accommodations and exemptions under the Americans with Disabilities Act and other regulations, but must still meet certain safety and performance standards. The aviation industry is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion, and providing equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities to pursue careers in aviation.
