Flight Data Monitoring

Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) is a proactive method of collecting, analyzing, and acting upon data generated by aircraft during flight operations. FDM programs aim to improve aviation safety by identifying and addressing potential safety issues before they result in accidents or incidents. FDM systems collect data from various sources, including flight recorders, avionics systems, and ground-based monitoring systems. The data is then analyzed to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that may indicate safety risks. FDM programs also provide feedback to pilots and operators to help them improve their performance and reduce the risk of accidents. FDM is an essential component of a Safety management system (SMS) and is required by many aviation regulatory authorities.
