Flight Data Recorder
A Flight Data Recorder (FDR), also known as a black box, is an electronic device installed in an aircraft to record various parameters of the flight, such as altitude, airspeed, heading, vertical acceleration, and control inputs. The FDR is designed to survive a crash and is usually located in the tail section of the aircraft. It records data on a continuous loop, which is overwritten after a certain period of time. In the event of an accident, the FDR can be recovered and the data analyzed to determine the cause of the accident.
