Galileo System
Galileo is a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) developed by the European Union (EU) and European Space Agency (ESA). It provides highly accurate positioning and timing information to users worldwide. The Galileo system consists of a constellation of satellites in medium Earth orbit, ground control centers, and user receivers. It operates in three frequency bands and offers dual-frequency services, which provide improved accuracy and reliability. Galileo is interoperable with other GNSS systems, such as GPS and GLONASS, and is intended to provide an independent, civilian-controlled positioning system.
