GLONASS
GLONASS (Global Navigation satellite System) is a satellite-based navigation system operated by the Russian Aerospace Defense Forces. It provides global coverage and is similar to the GPS system operated by the United States. GLONASS is used for navigation by both military and civilian users, including commercial aviation. It consists of a constellation of satellites in orbit around the Earth, ground control stations, and user receivers. GLONASS provides accurate positioning, velocity, and timing information to users around the world.
