Navigation Satellite
A navigation satellite is an artificial satellite that is used as a positioning and timing reference for navigation purposes. Navigation satellites are part of a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) that provides autonomous geo-spatial positioning with global coverage. The most well-known GNSS is the United States' Global Positioning System (GPS), but there are also other systems such as Russia's GLONASS, China's BeiDou Navigation satellite System, and the European Union's Galileo. Navigation satellites transmit signals to receivers on the ground, allowing them to determine their precise location and time. These satellites are used in various applications such as aviation, maritime, land surveying, and personal navigation devices.
