Horizon
In aviation, horizon refers to the apparent boundary between the earth and the sky. It is an imaginary line that separates the visible earth from the visible sky. The horizon is an important reference point for pilots, as it helps them maintain orientation and avoid disorientation. Pilots use the horizon to determine the aircraft's attitude, or its position relative to the earth's surface. The horizon can also be used to estimate the aircraft's altitude, or its height above the ground. In instrument flying, the horizon is replaced by the artificial horizon, which is a gyroscopic instrument that displays the aircraft's attitude.
