Liability

Liability in aviation refers to the legal responsibility of an individual or organization for any damages, injuries, or losses caused by an aircraft accident. This can include liability for the actions of pilots, maintenance personnel, air traffic controllers, and other parties involved in the operation of an aircraft. Liability can also extend to manufacturers and suppliers of aircraft and aircraft components if a defect or malfunction contributed to the accident. In commercial aviation, liability is typically governed by international treaties and national laws, and insurance is used to mitigate financial risk. In general aviation, liability can be more complex and may involve multiple parties and insurance policies.
