Minimum Connection Time
Minimum Connection Time (MCT) is the shortest amount of time required for a passenger to make a connecting flight from one flight to another at a particular airport. MCT is determined by the airport and takes into account factors such as terminal distance, immigration and customs procedures, security checks, and the time required to transfer baggage between flights. Airlines use MCT to determine the minimum amount of time needed for a passenger to make a connecting flight and to schedule connecting flights accordingly. Passengers who miss their connecting flight due to a delay in their first flight may be rebooked on the next available flight, but if the delay is due to their own fault, they may have to purchase a new ticket.
