NDBs
Non-Directional Beacon (NDB) is a radio transmitter that emits a continuous signal of a specific frequency. The signal is not directional, meaning it radiates equally in all directions. NDBs are used as a navigational aid for pilots to determine their position relative to the beacon. By tuning their radio to the frequency of the NDB, pilots can use the signal to determine their bearing to or from the beacon. NDBs are commonly used for instrument approaches in areas where other navigational aids are not available. They are also used for en route navigation and as a backup to other navigation systems.
