North Atlantic Organized Track System
The North Atlantic Organized Track System (NAT-OTS) is a set of pre-defined oceanic routes used by aircraft when flying across the North Atlantic. These routes are designed to optimize traffic flow and ensure safe separation between aircraft. The NAT-OTS is divided into six tracks, each of which is defined by a set of waypoints and altitudes. The tracks are updated twice a day based on weather patterns and other factors. Pilots are required to follow the assigned track and altitude, and to report their position at regular intervals. The NAT-OTS is an important component of the global air traffic management system, and helps to ensure the safety and efficiency of transatlantic flights.
