Operating Lease
Operating Lease is a contractual agreement between an aircraft owner and an airline, where the owner (lessor) provides the aircraft to the airline (lessee) for a fixed period of time, typically between 2 to 7 years. The lessor retains ownership of the aircraft and is responsible for maintenance, insurance, and other associated costs. The lessee pays a monthly fee to the lessor for the use of the aircraft. Operating leases are commonly used by airlines to acquire aircraft without having to make a large capital investment. At the end of the lease term, the lessee returns the aircraft to the lessor, who can then lease it to another airline or sell it.
