Lessor

In aviation, a lessor is a company or individual who owns an aircraft and leases it to an airline or other operator. The lessor is responsible for the maintenance and insurance of the aircraft, while the lessee is responsible for the operation of the aircraft, including crewing, fuel, and other operating expenses. Leasing an aircraft can be an attractive option for airlines, as it allows them to acquire aircraft without the large capital outlay required for purchasing them outright. Additionally, leasing can provide flexibility in fleet management, allowing airlines to adjust their capacity to meet changing demand. Lessor agreements can be structured in a variety of ways, including dry leases, wet leases, and ACMI leases.
