Overbooking
Overbooking is a common practice in the airline industry where airlines sell more tickets than the actual number of seats available on a flight. This is done to compensate for the possibility of no-show passengers and to maximize revenue. However, overbooking can lead to situations where there are more passengers than seats available on the flight. In such cases, airlines offer incentives to passengers to voluntarily give up their seats and take a later flight. If there are not enough volunteers, airlines may deny boarding to some passengers, which can lead to overbooking-related issues such as flight delays, missed connections, and customer dissatisfaction.
