Personal Electronic Devices

Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs) refer to any portable electronic device that passengers carry with them on board an aircraft. PEDs include but are not limited to smartphones, tablets, e-readers, laptops, portable DVD players, and MP3 players. In aviation context, PEDs are subject to regulations and restrictions due to their potential to interfere with aircraft systems. The use of PEDs during takeoff and landing is generally prohibited, while their use during the flight is allowed in airplane mode. Airlines may have their own policies regarding the use of PEDs, and passengers are required to follow the instructions of the flight crew regarding their use.
