Polar Orbiting
Polar orbiting refers to the trajectory of a satellite that passes over or near the Earth's geographic poles on each orbit. Polar orbiting satellites are used for a variety of purposes, including weather forecasting, environmental monitoring, and reconnaissance. These satellites typically orbit at a lower altitude than geostationary satellites, allowing for higher resolution imagery and more frequent passes over a given area. Polar orbiting satellites are also able to provide global coverage, as they pass over every point on the Earth's surface at least once per day. However, due to their lower altitude and orbital path, they require a larger number of satellites to provide continuous coverage.
