Respirators

Respirators are devices designed to protect the wearer from inhaling harmful dusts, fumes, vapors, or gases. In aviation, respirators are commonly used by pilots and crew members to protect themselves from breathing in contaminated air in the event of smoke, fumes, or other hazardous materials entering the cabin or cockpit. Respirators can be either air-purifying or air-supplying, and are typically designed to filter out specific types of contaminants. They must be properly fitted and maintained to ensure maximum effectiveness.
