Revenue Passenger Miles
Revenue Passenger Miles (RPM) is a measure of the passenger traffic of an airline. It is calculated by multiplying the number of revenue-paying passengers by the total distance traveled. For example, if an airline carries 100 passengers for a distance of 500 miles, the airline has generated 50,000 RPM. RPM is an important metric for airlines as it helps them to determine their passenger traffic and revenue. It is also used to calculate other important metrics such as load factor and yield.
