Risk control is the process of identifying, assessing, and prioritizing risks in order to minimize, monitor, and control the probability and/or impact of unfortunate events or to maximize the realization of opportunities. In aviation, risk control is a critical component of safety management systems (SMS) and is used to manage risks associated with flight operations, maintenance, air traffic control, and other aviation-related activities. Risk control measures may include implementing safety policies and procedures, providing training and education to employees, conducting safety audits and inspections, and utilizing safety technology and equipment.
