Snellen Chart

Snellen Chart is a tool used to measure visual acuity, which is the sharpness or clarity of vision. It consists of a chart with letters of different sizes arranged in rows. The chart is placed at a distance of 20 feet from the patient, and the patient is asked to read the letters from the top row to the bottom row. The letters on each row are progressively smaller, and the smallest row that the patient can read accurately determines their visual acuity. In aviation, pilots are required to have a minimum visual acuity of 20/40 in each eye, with or without correction, to be eligible for a pilot's license.
