Star Alliance
Star Alliance is a notable global airline network, founded in 1997, that has grown to become the world's largest airline alliance. It was established by five airlines: Air Canada, Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, Thai Airways International, and United Airlines. The alliance provides a framework for cooperation in terms of network planning, scheduling, and operational integration. It allows member airlines to share resources and facilities, leading to cost savings and operational efficiencies. The alliance also offers reciprocal benefits to passengers such as access to a larger global network, shared frequent flyer programs, and access to member airlines' lounges. The Star Alliance network's primary purpose is to provide high-quality, seamless services to international travelers. As of now, it comprises 26 member airlines that collectively serve more than 1,300 airports in over 190 countries.
