Tailpipes
Tailpipes are the exhaust pipes of an aircraft's engine, located at the rear of the aircraft. They are responsible for expelling the hot gases produced by the engine during the combustion process. The design of tailpipes is critical to the performance of the engine, as it affects the amount of thrust generated by the engine and the noise level produced. Tailpipes are often equipped with noise-reducing devices such as mufflers or silencers to reduce the noise level of the engine. In military aircraft, tailpipes may also be designed to reduce the aircraft's infrared signature to make it less visible to heat-seeking missiles.
