Ticket Stock

In the context of aviation, 'Ticket Stock' refers to the physical or electronic medium on which an airline ticket is issued. Traditionally, ticket stock was a printed document issued by an airline or a travel agency as a proof of purchase and a record of the passenger's travel itinerary. It contained details such as the passenger's name, flight number, destination, and other relevant flight information. With the advent of electronic ticketing, the term has evolved to include electronic tickets (e-tickets), which are digital versions of the traditional paper tickets. E-tickets are stored in the airline's computer system and can be printed out or displayed on a mobile device. They have become the standard in the airline industry due to their convenience, cost-effectiveness, and environmental benefits. Despite the shift to e-tickets, the term 'ticket stock' is still used in the industry to refer to the pool of tickets, whether physical or electronic, that an airline or travel agency has available for sale.
