Turbofan
A turbofan is a type of jet engine that is widely used in commercial and military aircraft. It consists of a fan at the front of the engine that draws in air and compresses it. This compressed air is then mixed with fuel and burned in the combustion chamber, which produces hot gases that expand and create thrust. In a turbofan engine, some of the air that is drawn in by the fan bypasses the combustion chamber and is expelled out the back of the engine, providing additional thrust. This makes turbofan engines more fuel-efficient and quieter than other types of jet engines.
