Air-purifying Respirator
An air-purifying respirator (APR) is a type of personal protective equipment (PPE) that is designed to protect the wearer from inhaling harmful airborne particles, gases, and vapors. APRs work by filtering the air that the wearer breathes in, removing contaminants and pollutants before they can enter the respiratory system. They are commonly used in aviation industries where workers may be exposed to hazardous materials such as fuel vapors, engine exhaust, and chemicals used in aircraft maintenance. APRs come in different types, including particulate respirators, gas masks, and combination respirators that can filter both particles and gases. Proper selection, fitting, and use of APRs are critical to ensure their effectiveness in protecting the wearer from airborne hazards.
