Air Traffic Control Instructions

Air Traffic Control Instructions are directives issued by air traffic control for the purpose of preventing collisions between aircraft, and to maintain an orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic. These instructions may include altitude, heading, speed, and route changes, as well as instructions to hold, climb, descend, or execute a missed approach. Pilots are required to comply with these instructions unless doing so would jeopardize the safety of the flight. Failure to comply with air traffic control instructions can result in a violation of aviation regulations and may lead to disciplinary action.
