Air Traffic Services
Air Traffic Services (ATS) are a set of services provided by ground-based controllers to direct aircraft on the ground and through controlled airspace. The primary purpose of ATS is to prevent collisions between aircraft, both in the air and on the ground, and to expedite and maintain an orderly flow of air traffic. These services are divided into three main categories: Air traffic control Service (ATC), Flight information Service (FIS), and Alerting Service. ATC is responsible for providing instructions to aircraft to ensure their safe and efficient movement in areas of controlled airspace and on the ground at controlled aerodromes. FIS provides advice and information useful for the safe and efficient conduct of flights. Alerting Service is designed to notify appropriate organizations regarding aircraft in need of search and rescue aid, and assist such organizations as required. ATS is a critical component of the aviation industry, ensuring the safety and efficiency of air travel.
