Axial Compressors
Axial compressors are a type of compressor used in gas turbine engines to compress incoming air before it enters the combustion chamber. They consist of a series of rotating and stationary blades that work together to compress the air in a continuous flow along the axis of the compressor. The rotating blades, also known as the rotor, spin at high speeds and use centrifugal force to push the air towards the stationary blades, also known as the stator. The stator blades then redirect the air back towards the rotor blades, further compressing the air. Axial compressors are highly efficient and are commonly used in aviation for their ability to produce high pressure ratios with relatively low weight.
