Broad-spectrum Sunscreen
Broad-spectrum sunscreen is a type of sunscreen that provides protection against both UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays are responsible for skin aging and UVB rays cause sunburn. Both types of rays can cause skin cancer. Broad-spectrum sunscreen contains active ingredients that absorb, reflect, or scatter the sun's harmful rays. In aviation, broad-spectrum sunscreen is important for pilots and flight attendants who are exposed to high levels of UV radiation at high altitudes. Prolonged exposure to UV radiation can cause skin damage and increase the risk of skin cancer. Therefore, it is recommended that aviation professionals use broad-spectrum sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30 and reapply it every two hours.
