Cargo Hold
A cargo hold is a compartment within an aircraft used to store cargo or baggage. Cargo holds are typically located in the lower part of the fuselage and are designed to withstand the weight and forces of the cargo during flight. They are equipped with tie-downs, nets, and other restraints to prevent the cargo from shifting during takeoff, turbulence, and landing. Cargo holds are also equipped with environmental controls to maintain the temperature and humidity levels required for the safe transport of certain types of cargo, such as live animals or perishable goods. In commercial aviation, cargo holds are an essential component of the aircraft's revenue-generating capabilities, allowing airlines to transport goods and mail in addition to passengers.
