Causal Factor

In aviation, a causal factor is an event or action that directly contributes to an accident or incident. It is the underlying reason or cause that sets off a chain of events leading to the occurrence. Identifying causal factors is an important part of accident investigation and prevention, as it allows for the development of strategies to mitigate or eliminate the factors that contribute to accidents. Causal factors can include human error, equipment failure, environmental conditions, and organizational factors.
