Coolant Passages
Coolant passages are the channels or pathways within an aircraft engine that allow for the flow of coolant, typically a liquid such as water or a water-glycol mixture, to remove heat from the engine and maintain a safe operating temperature. These passages are designed to direct the flow of coolant to specific areas of the engine that generate the most heat, such as the combustion chamber and exhaust system. The coolant absorbs heat as it flows through the engine and is then circulated to a heat exchanger, where the heat is dissipated into the surrounding air.
