Crosswind Landing

Crosswind landing is a technique used by pilots to land an aircraft when a crosswind is present. A crosswind is a wind that blows perpendicular to the runway. During crosswind landing, the pilot must use rudder and aileron to keep the aircraft aligned with the runway centerline. The pilot must also use a technique called crabbing to maintain the aircraft's heading in the direction of the runway. Just before touchdown, the pilot must use a technique called wing-down to align the aircraft's wheels with the runway. Crosswind landings require skill and experience, and can be challenging for pilots, especially in strong crosswinds.
