Flight Route
A flight route is the path that an aircraft follows from departure airport to destination airport. It includes the sequence of navigational waypoints, airways, and procedures that the aircraft follows. Flight routes are planned by the airline's operations department or a third-party flight planning service, taking into account factors such as weather, air traffic control restrictions, and aircraft performance. The route is usually filed with air traffic control and communicated to the flight crew prior to departure. During the flight, the crew may deviate from the planned route due to weather or traffic, but must obtain clearance from air traffic control before doing so.
