Unmanned Aircraft System
An Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS), also known as a drone, is an aircraft without a human pilot onboard. Instead, it is controlled remotely by a pilot on the ground or autonomously through pre-programmed flight plans in its embedded system. UAS can vary in size and complexity, from small consumer drones to large military drones used for surveillance and combat missions. They are equipped with various technologies such as GPS, infrared cameras, and laser range finders to perform tasks that are too dangerous or difficult for manned aircraft. UAS are used in a wide range of applications including aerial photography, agriculture, search and rescue operations, surveillance, and more. The operation of UAS is regulated by aviation authorities worldwide, such as the Federal aviation administration (FAA) in the United States, to ensure safety and privacy.
